About
The author
If you put in the extra effort you’ll probably be able to find my details via Google. Besides, I don’t really like to write much about myself, which is kind of funny since I’ve been able to keep a blog for all these years. But if I really have to write a few things down, well, then here they are:
My first name’s Thomas, my last name’s Bouve. For the linguistically challenged among you: it’s pronounced booo-vuh and not booo-vey. I was born on July 20th 1977 in Ostend, Belgium. I’ve been living in Koolkerke since 2004 together with Joke and I’m currently employed at this company where, for some funny reason, they let me play with servers, gadgets and the internet all day long (for real, hand to God, true stuff).
Computers tend to make up the major part of my life although in recent years the focus has shifted from fidgeting and tweaking to doing more productive stuff such as keeping mid-sized hosting infrastructures up and running. I also like to dabble in photography, which I’m not all that good at although the people around me keep saying otherwise. I need to post more material on Flickr.
I have a degree in electrical engineering from the KHBO which means squat to me since I ended up doing system administration for a living. Come to think of it, this might be the place for a life lesson of sorts: study whatever you want to kids. In the end you’ll probably end up doing something different anyway like, say, keep a blog. Life’s funny like that.

The legal cruft
Everything I write on this blog is strictly my own personal opinion and has nothing to do with my work or my employer. No guarantees are given regarding the quality of the content or the correctness of the material. In other words: if anything on this blog sets your house on fire, gives you flying diarrhea or makes your significant other spontaneously combust it’s entirely your own fault.
